Organisations and partnerships in Scotland could benefit from a new fund focused on addressing prostitution as a form of gender-based violence.
The £100,000 fund announced on the 3rd of March 2020 will support innovative and effective work that builds the capacity of frontline services and of initiatives that challenge men’s demand for prostitution.
The Addressing Prostitution as a form of Gender-Based Violence Fund is part of a suite of measures put in place by the Scottish Government under Equally Safe, Scotland’s strategy for preventing and eradicating violence against women and girls.
Impact Funding Partners is proud to support this work and will be managing the application process which launches in Spring 2020. Further information on the fund can be found here.
In addition to the fund, the Scottish Government has committed to bring forward a national consultation later this year to gather views on how best to challenge men’s demand for prostitution in Scotland. Views will also be sought around reducing the harms associated with prostitution and supporting women involved to exit.
